Travel Pick, Inc. donates our clear quart-size bags to be filled with hygiene items and art supplies by local children in the United States. The bags are then taken to local organizations helping families in need, such as domestic violence or homeless shelters. Travel Pick and Heart to Heart with Art also partners with other nonprofit international aid organizations serving communities in need overseas. Photos of the children who received the bags are shared with the volunteers who packed the bags to show how their contributions made a difference.
Lisa learned to love serving others at an early age through mission trips, working at food banks or donating her time and talents to those in need in the community. Grateful to her family for planting the seeds of service in her early on, Lisa wanted to incorporate both the arts and the art of giving to others through Heart to Heart with Art.

5. Heart to Hope – Coffee Creek Women’s Prison, Oregon State: We packed Fresh Start Kits for women leaving Coffee Creek Women’s Prison upon completion of their sentences. Our mission is to let these women know that they are seen, not forgotten and that someone cares by writing them a personal note and to offer some stress relief by providing a bag, planner, and the basic hygiene items to last a week or two.
We know it’s small, but in each bag we’ve included Clean360 handmade soap made in Oakland, California by emancipated individuals through Root’s Community Health Center’s workforce development program. After we interviewed several of the talented soap makers, they were excited to take part in our initiative to offer hope to the women being newly released from Coffee Creek, because they knew exactly how it feels to leave prison and the difficulties they face. The emancipated soap makers also advised us, alongside the Captain Amanda Rasmussen and Chaplin Claudia Al-Amin at Coffee Creek, on what would be helpful to pack in the bags.
Travel Pick Bags donated 200 bags to be filled by the nonprofit Heart to Heart with Art 501(c)(3).
